Grant Timeline

Each year the WFBR distributes a portion to the proceeds from membership and special events to not for profit community-based organizations for use in developing new, or implementing projects, or projects that benefit women and girls living in Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties.
Below are some key dates for the current grant cycle and the 2020-2021 grant cycle.

For the current grant cycle 2019-2020:

Mid-year report is due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020

Final report is due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2020

The 2020-2021 grant application window is

The application window is from Monday, August 17, 2020 through Friday, September 11, 2020.  Applications must be submitted by 5:00 pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

  1. One copy of the application form must be submitted in the required format via email to info@womensfundoftheblueridge.org. Two additional copies of the application, including all required attachments, should be mailed or hand delivered to the WFBR by the deadline.
  2. The Committee will review applications from September 21, 2020, through November 6, 2020.  The WFBR may have to offer funding at a different amount than requested.
  3. Applicants will be notified by Friday, November 13, 2020. The decisions of the Committee are final.
  4. Grant funding will be awarded before the end of year.  There will be an awards reception (date TBA).
  5. Grants will also be published in an email newsletter, on the WFBR website, and be communicated by email to the membership.
